Becoming A President

I saw the list of requirement for becoming president in the USA and I never expected that becoming a president would not require more stringent qualifications. The good about this is that anyone can seek legitimately to become president; the bad thing is that anyone can seek legitimately to become president too. Hopefully, the forces of good and fair democracy will elect the most required candidate. Now, if only we can make requirements our needs

Becoming A President

Barack Obama left his trail;

Emulate it and you can never fail

Careful steps along the way

Obama played it cool that’s why he’s president today

Men on their way to becoming a president will know

It’s important to have a clean record to show

Not just the Birth Certificate but a list of things

Got to have charisma, nerves of steel and the leverage good support brings

A skeleton free closet, thick skin, you must be 35 years or more

Prospects must have lived at least 14 years in the US and never served before

Requirements for becoming president don’t indicate

Education, wide knowledge, good family ties or ability to debate

So few are the qualifications for becoming president but we know

It’s important to have lots of good qualities because it’s no pony show

Do not think of being President if you can’t rise above men

Equaling their morals and standards are not enough my friend

Nominations should narrow the candidates and throw the phonies away

I have been writing but not posting my recent poems, the pressure of Christmas seems to have gotten to me. Today however I must make an exception since it is a very important date for a very important person. I sent it off to her and she loved it. Now that is the kind of reaction that warms a person’s heart. This poem may not have great significance to you but to her it was “awesome”

My Name Is Michael Western

Movies can be a favorite pass time

You’ll get pleasure from men fighting crime

Not just cops but lawyers and now Burn Notice men too

Any one suddenly cut from their undercover agency do

Michael Western specializes in making wrongs right

Evildoers are demolished with his cunning and might

In the new TV series he changes personalities

Switching in to roles that require his expertise

My sister is generally equaled to shifting roles

I see her become doctor, carpenter, driller of holes

Caring for family and strangers for pets purposely

Her favorites are the family dogs but she

Accepts the neighborhood cats like Ginger and the rest

Every action is unselfish and nothing done with protest

Love and assertive Christian values make her with no doubt

When a crisis steps in she will jump to put the fire out

Every time she can be counted on to be first at your door

She gives her all and will give a whole lot more

To help you if conditions allowed and so like the spy

Every wrong she will fight to right, she will certainly try

Rest will come easier when she is in your corner

No MacGyver or Michael Western is any where better

What a glorious era this is when technology allows you to see what is going live for miles and miles away. When my friend called me and I saw her new born baby, it was as if I was there with her and her husband, in the same room, sharing their joy. I’ll plant a Rose and keep it for him

In arms resting peaceably

Delightfully sweet, did you, see?

You see how with experience he stayed

On mommy’s bosom and quietly laid

Unconcern of troubles, not yet afraid

See too his beautiful lips and chin

Eyes not yet debuting and sun not yet on skin

Enjoying being on the outside where kisses and embraces begin

He is the center of attraction, the apple of the eye

Incredible bundle of joy in this little guy

I was privileged to hear her sing recently and although it was not at the kind of event that I would have been looking for talent, I totally enjoyed her singing. I came away believing that she sings better than one of the classical greats that my family often compares here to. Today we celebrate her birthday and I wish her the very best.

I know it’s a gift Lord and she does too

And Mikko Makes Three

So happy, so proud and so tired. The couple welcomes their first child, a baby boy who was here after 40 minutes of delivery time. She had a beautiful and blessed pregnancy which resulted from a wonderful union. The labor was similarly blessed and now this child that arrived on Thursday November 11, 2010 at 7:58am weighing 7lbs 7ozs and measuring 19.5 ins.

And Mikko Makes Three

A proud father he is today

Now God’s miracle and all is okay

Divine Father blessed them with this little boy

Mikko he will me called and his life they’ll enjoy

It is expected that he will keep them up nights late

Keep them changing and feeding him but it will be great

Kind Father entrusted them with his little soul

On them to turn to, his troubles they will console

Mend bruises and treat insect bites

Assist him with studies and keep him from fights

Knees he will be taught are used to pray

Earnest praises to the Lord and to thank him each day

So many responsibilities come in so little a package

Turned up at 7:58am, 7lb 7oz. with obvious lineage

He looks like his dad although measuring inches 19.5

Really small by comparison but in time he will thrive

Eventually will be taller than his mom, may be dad too

Enjoy your baby boy Mikko and know God loves you

I haven’t written to this blog in a while, but I think the writer of the blog either. It seems like facebook is the new play toy for most to vent your views and amass support. Blogs still offer some freedoms that to accomplish on facebook thy will not be consider freedoms. I am still learning how to creating effective pages!

Tattoos! OMG! [mine-Oh My Goodness] Good Girl Gone Bad

Hair styles galore, wha wrong wid the one she had

Every outfit getting skimpier, wha wrong wid she

Robyn lost she focus! Or have we?

It didn’t matter to me what she wore

Her schedule was planned months before

And she broke engagements to be in Bim

No matter what the cost she paid her respects to him

Not showing up would have been understandable to me

And to have shown up says she’s a special celebrity

Having the care to put everything scheduled on hold

And the power to do it, so she controlled

Them all to be here, to say farewell

Every hater focused on dress, bag, hat but from what I can tell

Rihanna came wearing empathy, a sense of national lost and grief

A Bud On Her Rose Vines

Oh what excitement, what good news. God has once more smiled upon us and has given our sister a glorious baby with his kind mercy. Today she delivered a miracle of love, kept all okay and now is prepared to continue with her new family. I pray God’s continued blessings upon them

A Bud On Her Rose Vines

Along the flower garden were the rose vines

Beautifully organized in perfect lines

Unmatched arrangements in shades of green

Did not notice recent changes, hadn’t yet seen

On one of the roses was a sure sign

Nature did the usual blessing and we did find

Her beautiful miniature blossom there on a tree

Every flower that was around waited to see

Ready for a safe opening and taking more time than all

Red little blossom was determined for its curtain call

On Sunday gone we awoke expecting it then

Signs were unclear but still we waited for when

Eyes and ears will at last meet but it wasn’t then to be

Very expected was the blossom’s arrival, all wanted to see

It wasn’t until Thursday the blossom showed a piece of heaven

Night gone Morning awoke and after taking forty at 7:58, 7lbs 7

Everything was as pretty and as beautiful as the Lord said it would be

Sunshine, a beautiful blossom, a day’s miracle and God smiling at me

Reflection - Death

I want to reflect on death for a moment. The fact is that although the body passes on there are certain things of individuals that will stay with us. These may be simple things like the way they open a can, or sat in a specific chair. Sometimes they leave with us methods that we use all of our lives, like recipes or how to bring the car in the garage. When a person dies simple but very important things live on.

Reflection

Remember me when I am gone

Even though my body left my spirit lives on

Forget the trivial, they can pass away

Let the more precious memories we shared stay

Encourage the thought that a part of me remained

Carry on the models I casted and the methods I trained

The steps where I cut paths to be followed

I tried to build you foundations and never wallowed

On my laurels because the examples I wanted to set

Now that I’ve gone these parts of me you must never forget

His Dash For Me

You may know of the DASH that separates our date of birth and our death on our tombstone and how, although it bears significance, is treated as if it is worth no more than the minus sign it resembles. A facebook friend asked that we look at the DASH again and I did

This is what the DASH was to me

He was born on Christmas day

In the most loving time they say

So it was his destiny

David, our Prime Minister was meant to be

As he was, living all his years

Sharing with others and quelling fears

He lived his DASH trying to impart

Family First with his generous heart

Opened doors for the downtrodden men

Risked all to stop Violence and Crime from spreading

My Prime Minister and yours lived his DASH fully

Equal rights to all and dreamt of a Barbados with Love and Unity

The Tributes Given at His Alma Mater

The Combermerians had a night of tributes to their fallen comrade and the evening to all was incredible. They had a late start largely due to an accident on the stadium road that prevent passage and created gridlocks

When they finally got started there was tributes that were sent in my mail and read by the MC and tributes in song, poetry, speeches, adlibs, orchestral the whole works. One sure thing was apart from the Hon. David J H Thompson being loved buy many, Combermerians are very talented.

The Tributes Given at His Alma Mater

They postponed their function twice before

However they decided for Friday 5, two hours pass four

Evening came to sunny day but at twenty-five minutes after five

The rain pour to threaten it again but plans stayed alive

Ready earlier than expected he got on his way

In his car with 15 minutes grace he was “pressing on” to pay

Brotherly friend from his Alma Mater the final tributes

Unconditional respect through the musical evening with oratory salutes

The National Anthem was played with orchestral genius

Everyone sung the school, then a prayer and Peter welcomed us

Sung a Hymn then remarks by the principal of the school’s parlance

Got a duet, the choir then Charlie spoke of his “zero tolerance”

Insightful and historical and mostly

Venerably comical, like good old Charlie

Eloquence followed from David’s much spoke of Rastafari

Narrated advice to the family and poetry far better than I

A vocal solo, an extraordinary violin solo then the orchestra again

Tributes from Janice then from Neville a most hilarious showing

He imitated Charlie as David would often request

It was spot on and his tribute gut wrenching, the best

Soon another Hymn then a Gaye and Stephen duet

A rendition unmatched by some of the best artistes yet

Lawrence sung after the orchestra played

Mark had a crisp steel pan solo after Mrs Pile relayed

All the old time secrets of what might have been the drive

Making folk run to the ISCF and keeping traditions live

Another excellent Solo by Paula then solos by Andreen and Dionne

The sung another hymn, prayed and the school song

Exe. President, MC thanked us, he had read two of my pieces too

Raised the Anthem and finally I felt closure to the man I knew

Farewell To The Prime Minister

Farewell to a true friend and great person who brought happiness to many of his friends, family and the people of Barbados. This prime Minister served as Prime Minister only 2 years but he brought more change in the short space of time than others in full terms. The Hon. David J H Thompson has left a great legacy and the people of Barbados say thank you.

Father you gave him and soon you took him away

And there are questions what these actions say

Reactions are generally the same tune

Everyone thinks he is gone to soon

When such a special person dies

Excessive will be the peoples’ cries

Lord you know this man that all came to know

Loved one, leader, confidant and friend they didn’t want to go

This time is and any other would be, hard to bear

Only you Father knew the time he’d leave here

To this end we say a fond farewell

He served the people outstandingly and from what they can tell

Excellent was the service he gave to you

Putting his all to help others meant he was helping you too

Righting wrongs against the downtrodden and giving them a chance

Investing endless time to make Families First his stance

Made you Father his guide when uncertainty was ahead

Ecumenical inauguration and religion widespread

Ministers trusted him and their constituents too

In his own St. John he was loved by many and all he knew

Nationhood he preached and that the people be as one

International strains will ease he said if we’d better get along

Shared his dream of a people who lived with love and unity

There is so much he left as his legacy

Ever merciful Father my people wish to give him this final adieu

The island said farewell today to one of its greatest treasures, the Hon. David J H Thompson, the Prime Minister of Barbados. We did so with a celebration of his life as it was eulogized by two of his very close friends Brian Clarke and Hartley Henry. One of “Thompy’s” pet phrases was Don’t Panic and oh too often we heard it around the time we most needed to.

Dear Lord you took his body today

Our time with him is over though the memories will stay

Nothing can take them away from us

Thanks Father for giving him to Barbados

People may say his term wasn’t long

And that he left without righting the wrong

No, not true, tens of thousands have hope because he

Invested his time while devoted to friend and family

Cared enough to set standards others may emulate

Built us into firm craftsmen of our fate

I see all his work and all we owe to him

Mostly I hear him whispering Don’t Panic Bim

Our words can never summarize the magnitude of your heart

Were immeasurable, and fully extend

Over years, age, creed and always too

Don’t Want Another Man

I read a post from one of the facebook friends and she was great. She expressed the worst beating ever. I was very impressed with it and moved to write the following acrostic.

Don’t Want Another Man

Domestic violence would take a back seat

On the viciousness I experienced at his feet

Never were there blows so fast and furious

There is no reason why they do this to us

We always stepped aside to dodged their blows

All their fury and gust and who knows

Not once having done a deserving deed

To be so brutally battered like a herd in stampede

And then a blow that out my lights

No blow like this even in the worse of fights

One blow again and the water out

The tears were flowing but that was the only water about

He cut my communication, stopped my calls

Even destroyed the buildings, their roofs and walls

Ruins though not as bad as from Katrina, Ivan, David and Gilbert

More brutal siblings that wreaked havoc and cause greater hurt

And so I hope Tomas was last of Mother Nature’s plan

No more for me Barbados, I Don’t Want Another Man

In life there will many roads some divided into lanes. Although you can travel in the same direction you may end up at different destinations. We must learn when to cross lanes when to change the method of what we are doing to remain in the true destination. Raising kids will require your all and they cannot be expected to respond to the same treatment and theories. God has your road map and once you use his guidance all days are blessed.

We all have our own experiences of this storm Tomas which tore through the island of Barbados early Saturday morning Oct 30 at approximately 2:00 am, exactly 7 days after the lost of our Prime Minister. There may be no significance to this but these two marks on history’s page will forever be tragedies upon the people of Barbados

Bajans Didn’t Like To Mas

By Friday evening we were told

A storm was approaching put yah plans on hold

Just after work the signs were there

A dark stillness enveloped the air

No birds in the evening sky

Settled in early and so did I

Didn’t hear much until the flap of a blind

I got up at 3 am and then to find

Darkness and howling winds all around

Never saw so much debris on the ground

There were branches and galvanized sheets

Large trash cans rolling down the streets

I saw in a distance a torn roof

Kept watching from my window for this damning proof

Easterly is generally safe but not immune

Tomas howled at 75mph with his destructive tune

Our homes destroyed, trees fallen and roads blocked

Many utilities off and a nation shocked

All so soon after our leader was snatched away

Storm Tomas one week afterwards woke me to another sorrowful day

The Delight of MS

Disease can overcome our bodies but doesn’t have to touch our spirit. After my illness I wrote many poems and reconnected with many friends. The things I wanted to express for a lifetime I’m only now getting the time. For many reasons I am grateful for these last, almost 6 years.

Today I will celebrate another year to wish my friend happiness and send blessings on this special day.

The Delight of MS

These many things we grow to know

Have friends we’ll meet and places we’ll go

Every circumstance a blessing from above

Do things honestly and do things with love

Earnestly we’ll pray for things we need

Like health, love and in life succeed

It’s a better lesson we will come to learn

God’s will isn’t everything that we’ll yearn

How gracious to see the positive though they hide

To hear another’s murmurs when they confide

Or to be there to cling to them when they need you

For support during testing times, in sorrow and pain too

I went to bed unusually early for this week and was up early, very early. The cold night was calling me and I turned and never got back to sleep. I just stayed there and observe as the emotions grew unbearable when I got up

They Couldn’t Contain The Tears

I just got back from the viewing the body of my Prime Minister and long time friend and I am not sure that this I had closure. I saw too many people there that were concerned about me, it distracted me from what I went to do and their sorrow started me thinking of times gone by and faces I once knew and I was lost it the passage of time.

The somber mood was set the skies were gray

Had a stillness that enveloped this sorrowful day

Eyes hazed and features distorted with grief

You could sense the denial, the disbelief

Combermerians young and Combermerians old

On this day lived their saddest told

Unsure how and didn’t care why

Life should not be denied so soon from such a needed guy

Today I will brave my emotions and the horror of clothing to spend just one last chance with my friend’s body. I know that it is only a shell and that his soul has long left but like a picture of memories, his body will bring the nostalgia of many years together and closure that he no longer is. Today I will see him for the last as he lies resting. Farewell my Prime Minister, the Honorable David John Howard Thompson.

The body of my friend will be at Combermere

I will go to view him while he lays there

Many others too will come to say their final goodbyes

Every old scholar in shades to cover red, swollen eyes

Thanks to Kim from facebook I was moved to write again about our Prime Minister, The One, The leader, Our friend. I will be first to apologize if my writing becomes repetitious but I am feeling the same remorse and the tears do not change nor does he. My words flow like tear drops and wet the page to form the acrostic poems.

The One The Leader Our Friend

The country mourns I feel its pain

Honorable David Thompson shall never smile again

Every one in my home is sorrowful and cries

Openly, we never had chance to say our good-byes

Never took the time to remind him that we feel

Especially bless because he was at the wheel

This ship was sinking but he was plugging the holes

He mended so much in two years when he assumed his roles

Enjoyed serving the people and always he

Laughed away the trivial and focused on duty

Encourage those around him to do the same

Always he lead to help and not for glory and fame

Didn’t stray from his promises but may practically delay

Execution until he thought we had reached a more suitable day

Remembering our Prime Minister I close my eyes and see

One special leader with astute ability

Unique design and unmatched protocol

Remembering our Prime Minister I admire his recall

Friend to all and would turn away none

Rose to each challenge and worked until it was done

I was privileged to call the Prime Minister my buddy

Say Mongooses Please

The call in program had an unusual twist. It seems the professor that host the program read an email and scuffed the word “mongooses” determining it to be wrong. Today the hosts took him to task and some callers too. I earned from early school days that this was the correct plural for Mongoose.

Assures us it’s neither man nor goose in genecology

You can’t conjugate like a comedienne

Mon in mongoose can’t turn to men

One can see the mongoose has no man

None should twist this word for resonance plan

Goose may turn the geese in birds that fly

One cannot say mongeese and this is why

Our cat like creature that scampers around

Spends all it’s time firmly on the ground

Even though it zooms quickly and may

Sometimes disappear like it had flown away

People must stick to the correct conjugation

Language has it own accepted permutation

Exceptions of plurality do exist

And so deer is deer and sheep, sheep we insist

The Healing Has Begun

Thanks to a facebook friend we got to learn what the service was like as the celebrated the life of our Prime Minister. The turn out was great but hat is most remarkable is that the well wishers are not daunted by the out come of their prayers but see that God is in charge.

The Healing Has Begun

Thousands perhaps came to the Hard Courts at Gall Hill

Had planned to be well wishers, the PM was ill

Except the radio played solemn music, the nation cried

Had declared a few days earlier the PM had died

Ecumenical gathering to celebrate his life

All his colleagues present, his family, children and wife

Life although snatched away while still young

In a short time he was great, so we celebrated as we sung

Numerous hymns like “His Eye Is On The Sparrow”

Got encouragement to walk the straight and narrow

How great to hear “It Is Well With My Soul”

A hymn of great solace to give God His control

Sung “Great Is Thy Faithfulness” and “How great Thou Art”

Bellowed “How Great Is Our God” from the very start

Everyone was comforted as Sen. Rev. David Durant confirmed

God Is In Charged and the PM’s salvation was reaffirmed

Under a solemn occasion but angels seemed to be everywhere

Now I know Joy was correct when she said “Real love will be there.”

Myopinions may appear bias but they are shared by thousands, the Hon. David J HThompson was a great Prime Minister, Leader, Confidant and friend. His astute knowledgeand fervent wit made him loved by most. Our PM was a very caring man whoremembered the strangest details about his pass encounters and was able to usethis fantastic memory to answer the needs of many, in his time and unprompted.Politics and righteousness make strange bed fellows but if ever there was anexception our PM was it.

He aspired for greatness from when he was a child

Enthusiasm, integrity, knowledge and many qualities compiled

Had shaped his character and made an incredible man

Only those who cared to listen understood his plan

No other leader here advocated family first

Or focused on preventing youths headed from bad to worst

Regally he walked through the corridors of time

And made no excuse of focusing on Violence and Crime

Barbados is a great nation and its preservation would be

Lasting if we center our attention first on family

Every home a scholar, sure, but first make each house a home

Don’t want a Barbados of houses where emotions roam

Assault and battery, doubts and screams

Violence so rampant and so many lost dreams

Incredible to know a leader so young and wise

Did all to help our nation even when faced with his demise

Tears are falling again as I write

How hard to accept he has lost this fight

Only because I knew him always to win

Most challenges he was faced with, every battle he was in

Prime Minister and leader, confidant and friend

Smiled as he walked into the light, as he knew life will end

David J HThompson has thrown us into a more sorrowful mood and as a show of respect theactivities have been generally given way to more sobering and solemn events. Tribute To Our Friend Thompy

Thompy, he was affectionately called by all

Remembered every meeting and would lucidly recall

Incidents we had forgotten, so vividly

Brought them back to our recollect often passionately

Used to be very humorous and always started the fun

There were side splitting jokes when ever he begun

Early times that I do recall while at school

Thompy arrived first on mornings as his personal rule

Opened the gate with the keys from the head

Once done he returned the keys and off he sped

Upstairs, the balcony, any where until

Ringing of the school bell started the morning drill

Floors and corridors busy as we rushed to prayers

Ringing bell again and Thompy officiated both up and downstairs

I didn’t see him playing games but he cheered every match

Every set of new students he greeted, every batch

Never joined the cadets or joined the scouts

Didn’t matter because Thompy was there at their camp outs

The Thompy we knew was full of fun

He was calm and collected, didn’t tan in the sun

Opened his heart to let all people in

Made us feel like we belong and that we were all akin

Politics may have adopted him but he made politicians agree

Youth are vital, Family First and we must live with Love, Peace and Unity

I’ll saygood-bye to my dear friend with the expectation that one day again we will meetin a place where there is no further pain or sorrow. We all have a role to playwhile we are here and from a very young age my friend contributed more thatmost people decades older. He has left and incredible legacy and I was alwaysglad to be a part of his life.

Expired peacefully and is no longer with us

Suffers no more with arduous pain

Gone Too Soon but his legacy will remain

Our Prime Minister was foremost a family man and friend

Never gave up his will to help others through to the end

Endured in faith and led us responsibly

Took time for all Bajans and especially

Our Prime Minister ruled among us, walked where we would

Over the lengths and breadths of each neighborhood

Showed us to treat each other like one big family

One nation of Love and Unity

Oh how it hurts that this great servant of the people is gone

I Was Asleep When My Dear Friend Passed

There wasvery sorrowful music when I turned the radio on this morning. I was encouragedby the strange comments from a friend that led me to believe the worse. I soonheard the voice of the former Prime Minister expressing her condolences and theword was final. My very close and dear friend, the Honorable David John Howard Thompson, Q.C M.P , the Prime Minister of Barbados died early this morning at2:10 am. My deepest sympathies to his wife and children, his mother and father,his siblings and other family members, his colleague in the DLP, friends localand abroad and all the other people of Barbados.

I Was Asleep When My Dear Friend Passed

I remember my old Combermerian schoolmate

Who loved to argue and would fervently debate

And had a gift to candidly recall

Specifics we’d forgotten, he remembered them all

A long time ago we entered the Waterford School

Some of us were nervous but he remained cool

Like he knew he was just taking another step

Exceptionally calm and one day after prep

Even though we’d not been introduced, he came to me

Politely exchanged details and from that day we

Were more than classmates we became friends

He demonstrated very maturely that his path depends

Everyday on the careful and calm steps he makes

Not on the blunders but how he rose from his mistakes

More mature than any other boy in the classes

Yet he respected the opinions of us lowly masses

Didn’t play many games his focus was the literary

Education was like a food he gormandized lavishly

And my friend had a voice to sing

Really perfect pitch and an ear accurate as a violin’s string

For our youthful years we sung in the choir

Refrains like the Jonah Man Jazz to our hearts desire

I remember chasing him on the pasture until I lost my wind

Every boy looking on couldn’t believe the stamina of one so thin

No one had any doubts at all he would achieve

Dreams he realized because he chose to believe

People were his commitment and politics his life

And Family First he started with his adoring wife

So many were blessed by my friend and I especially so

Shared mutual respect and admiration and was glad to know

Each other, but I didn’t hear his call this morning or what he had to say

Sometimes when all seems lost and there are no chances of sunshine to come, when the rain is getting ready to pour and you shiver with the cold, sometimes things are not what they seem.

Took a sea bath and it was strange to be

On the sand walking with you not there with me

Didn’t feel the same but I drown the pain

A smile with the others and with old friends a smile again

You wouldn’t be there either when I got back

So there was no hurry walking that dirty track

Showered away the sand and again loneliness came

Use Cif, you joked as you called my name

Remembered it all like it was yesterday

Pink soft colored dress or fucha they say

Right when I was feeling my worst a screen came on

I suspected an intruder because you were long gone

Some fifteen minutes passed and on it came again

Excited, then the phone rang, “Surprise!” One word ended all my pain

The weather has been frightful and so unpredictable that you never know if you should carry an umbrella. To play it safe I always travelled with a very small pocket umbrella that when unfolded was the size of a gents umbrella. What is also useful is having a pocket size rain coat that had a hood and covers below the waist. Once you had these it didn’t matter what the weather decides, you are ready.

Because home is where your heart resides

Let me say at this time my home takes long train rides

Or can take trips on the bus, too and fro

Where ever she explores is where my home may go

You will notice that my heart shivers from the cold

Or you may hear its beating, strumming brave and bold

Under these changes in conditions my home can be

Relaxing in the day but by night cold and lonely

Never comfortable with the windows close at night

Or contented when she turns over to put out the light

Sometimes home is gay with endless fun

Excited to be spending lengthy hours in the sun

Lots of times this month my home was washed away

Once splashed by an insensitive driver and another day

Very close a driver came to knocking my residence down

Every day I am very concern, when ever my home is in town

The campaign goes on and I continue to be inspired by the promotion. I wrote earlier but then this afternoon I heard another theme that was equally as emotive. The local group is recommending that we start putting white crosses on the highway at the areas where there was a death.

Awoke this morning with lots on my mind

Numerous unfinished tasks, I had fallen behind

Didn’t take my breakfast, there was no time to eat

Was running late, this morning I had my bosses to meet

Hurried into the car, turned it on and was off in a flash

Off so quickly I hit the garbage bin but averted a crash

Wobbled but straighten in time for a stop

Impatiently waited all 10 seconds for the light to drop

Like a drag racer I was away with screeching brakes

Little child jumped out my way, another of my mistakes

You see I was eating a leftover sandwich from yesterday

One bite, the insides dropped causing my eyes to stray

Used the brakes to avoid hitting a lady who had stepped out

Keep your eyes on the road, I heard her shout

I drove recklessly, I know, trying to save time

Let my haste force me into each traffic crime

Lifted my phone to text and let my assistant know

That I was running 5 minutes late and don’t let the boss go

Oops, I’d missed a red light and barely missed a bike

Didn’t regain control and struck a car that mine is alike

And we both somersaulted then the other car spun on its roof

The year have crept up but not piled on. My friend is first to admit to her maturity and to sing the pride of family with her two sons and husband. But when it all boils down to it, seeing her is like seeing someone half her age. She is a live wire with no end to a day. I am glad I know my friend and home she has many, many years of good health.

TheCampaign “If Only” caught my ear and apparently stimulated me to write too. Iused to drive fast, too fast and always believed I was in control. So manyothers think the same too. In truth, the Lord was in control and made sure thatI was protected from killing myself or any other. I know now how really stupidit is to take the unnecessary risk.

If Only I Wasn’t

I never intended to, but because of me

Far too many were killed needlessly

Overtaking that car was one of my stupid mistakes

Never knew my car had such faulty brakes

Little child was on the zebra crossing but I didn’t see her

You see, I should have left my nails and polish them later

I was going too fast and ran a red light

We were fooling around and I didn’t see the lady in white

All those text messages weren’t urgent, why didn’t I wait

Should have saved the food for home still I drove and ate

Numerous accidents happen each day with a handful of survivors

Thoughtless and careless, If Only I Wasn’t one of the delinquent drivers

All My Earthly Things

I think sometimes I write so that people can ask themselves questions about the soundness of what I had written and value their own opinions. I hear diverse ideas and reasoning and although I am baffled that they are the emanations of intellects, I recognize that everyone has a right to be heard and I listen. I may be offended but I listen and ask for strength from the dear Lord to survive the infusion of verbal pollution.

All My Earthly Things

After working hard each day

Long hours to ensure things go my way

Living in the moment and for the moment too

Making the most of opportunities to accrue

Years of fortune in my life time

Every pleasure to have, my life was prime

And now death threatens to take it all

Ruin me for my promiscuous downfall

The things I chose in life to amass

How dread to think they now must pass

Little chance to take them all with me

Years ago the Pharaohs tried unsuccessfully

The fear of leaving them all behind

Saying good bye to love is almost like dying, once you get over the fears of what you leave behind and start to focus on where you are going it gets easier. The more you focus on what used to be the more difficult it becomes. We can not hold on to the past, it is only the stepping stones to brighter futures but can be the step down to damnation, pure misery. Learn from the past and respect it for what it has been but break away from it with now intimacy

I would rather they never come by but we need to see them. They bring some stuff that is necessary, I can’t say exactly what or why. You’ll just have to take my word on this. But I will tell you this, sometimes you just have to bite the bullet and bare their visit

Use special diets for the guest but it’s the same

Exercise for fitness but was demolished when my guest came

Somethings in life are so hard to bear that we often wish they were gone. Somepeople can be so rambunctious we wish they never come again but when we hearthat they were killed or not so final, that they lost a leg. We still feel sopain. Be careful the things you wish would not happen, your wish might cometrue.

They didn’t arrive yet, they were already five days late

Heard nothing, had no signs, didn’t know how long to wait

Every pain I had felt before I wished now I had

Got the worst feeling overcoming me, I knew I’d been bad

Unbearable thoughts of things I wished I had never done

Ecstasy for the moment but what if the change has begun

So hard, I’m not ready, I’d rather scream with cramps and pain

The agony, if only my guest will come. I’ll never fool around again.

The Untidy Bedroom

When I heard about the untidy bedroom I was shocked, they had always been so tidy, how did the room get away from them. But this is easily understood when you think of all the other things that people let get out of hand and sometimes so bad that there is no tidying up.

They share a room, these two ladies I know

Had little time for a broom always on the go

Every thing started to pile even on the floor

Unkempt clothes for awhile and then much more

No where to walk without stepping on clothes

Today she stepped on a clock although careful on tippy toes

It was the turning point, the time to clean

Dirty things had her out of joint, fallen from her routine

Yet it was her mess, things she’d never thrown out

Brassieres, the evening dress, and other things laying about

Envelops mysteries to unlock and junk mail everywhere

Didn’t hear the knock, but then a shout “Is anyone there”

Room was embarrassingly untidy, they kept the lock on the door

Once they heard somebody, they met them before

Opening too wide, to let others see

Mess they would rather hide from you and me

I was reassured whenmy doctor once suggested that I pray at a time when all else was in thebalance. I am happy to be here today to report that crisis is no longer animmediate threat. He is the physician who now has most of my trust of allearthly men. For the real serious stuff I consult the greatest of allphysicians. With His Love He direct all others with the Medicine to make hisMiracles our reality.

I am happy to be able to extend these best wishes to you but I am sadden by the debilitating illness that has befallen our leader. He led us through many days at school and after school. Our friend needs us now and we extend our hands.

I knew and loved the 20^th century version of Nash, full of fun and so carefree; ready to take on the world. He was creative and inventive and almost anything he put a mind he could do better than most. I met the 21^st century and it’s an improvement on the already lovable version. This one keeps close friends with Jesus, is a devoted husband and faithful parent. I love this one even more!

Got too strong a bond from face to face visits in his constituency

Even though page limitations forced him to be concise

On hard courts at Gall Hill, on the streets of Cherry Grove

Places like Society, Venture, Edgehill and where he drove

Like Massiah Street, Mount Tabor and Wilson Hill

Eagerly he hope to do it all over again and pray it’s God’s will

Our PM promised St John “I am yours and you are mine”

Faithfully selecting deputies to continue his design

St John “Be comforted in the knowledge that” in his difficulty

This experience has brought him much closer to the Almighty

Join together and continue your prayers for God has smiled

The Monster Within

I once sawin television program an explanation that within all of us is good and evil, ina constant battle. The one we nourished the most becomes stronger andsuppresses the presence of the other. This means that at any time we can begood or bad depending on what we choose to let into our lives. This seemslogical. But what about if we feed neither, do we not run the risk of either escaping.

The Monster Within

There is a dark side of me I only just met

Horrible and unfeeling, my silent duet

Evil villains that lurked inside ready

Muted until I was weak and unsteady

On that wretched night when it was quiet about

No more could I contain the monster and it got out

Screams followed its path behind a closed door

There was no lock so I opened it and the screams grew more

I have been exposed to the persistence of men and the deliberate deafness to the word no. They pretend that they either don‘t hear the word or that they don’t understand it. And they are so silly, what would stop us from giving then the wrong number. I heard from an educated trainer at a defense class to never take a number from them that they are handing to you. Never give them the opportunity to grab your hand. The quickest way out of the problem can still lead to new problems. Beware!

Can Men Understand No

Crossing the road I was let by, by a guy in a fancy silver car

And turned to thank him with a smile but his daze was bizarre

No, I couldn’t believe it, up ahead was he

Making himself obvious, just leaning on the car staring at me

Even though he was polite I had to leave

No was clear but he followed and wouldn’t believe

Usually I remember faces but for the three month I’ve been here

Never did I see you in this town anywhere

Didn’t matter, I was in a hurry but he just pursued me

Every step I took he followed annoyingly

Shamelessly this man about 30 was boyishly undone

Great Samaritan

I heard a story of a modern day Samaritan and I wondered what I would have done. Too many people would have driven off hoping that someone else would do the right thing. But how long does someone in distress have to wait for their Samaritan to come by?

Great Samaritan

Got a big loving and caring heart

Right from moment she saw her, from the very start

Every personal crisis stood still and she was there

At her side where the young was crying, no one else showed to care

The corner was dangerous and the bike caught her eyes

She looked from her car and saw a girl then heard her cries

All her clothes were torn from where she fell

More shuck up by the spill than hurt from what they could tell

And though she was dirty in her face her heart seemed clean

Regretfully everyone had passed her by, why are people so mean

It was soon her parents came to answer her call

I wrote before of the reason you hurry is the reason you shouldn’t. If you think about it, when you are rushing in the car to that appointment, if you crash the appointment may never see you. I am not expecting everyone to take their time; I’m just hoping that we would all be a lpt direful when we hurry

He Ran The Traffic Light

Hurrying brings waste, bad decisions, lost of life or pain

Every time you chose to hurry think once again

Running a traffic light can be the worse haste

And today was this terrifying dragon she faced

Nothing between them but thin air

The brakes squeaked their appeal and folk looked from everywhere

He was driving his posh BMW and she saw in his eyes

Emotions of fear, terrified from the alarming surprise

That he had stopped within inches of taking her life

Ran the stop light and almost took this soon to be wife

And she stared at him and grew angry

Fool, damn fool, what if he had ran over me

Fury burst through her veins, she wanted that he too feel

Crowds of people on the sidewalk were sure they would see

Life snatched away from her, a great tragedy

It is a bad habit and one I have fought with for years. Now it seems like I harvest the finger nails only to bite them back down later. You see, I bite the nails during trouble times and when I am enjoying the times they grow. Psalms 23 is a very familiar one to most. We all learned it at school or at church reciting it regularly until we committed it to memory. I was careful not to say knew it by heart because I am one of those kids that never really understood what I was saying.

We Need To Talk

Careful how you coax your words, how you introduce a story to others. The words that may only be words to you may have seriously damaging effect on those you love. Yes run has been used by me every day for the last 2 months when I unchain my dog to give him the okay to go. Now I loosely said these words and created the worst atmosphere for a friend. I was insensitive and should have weighed this verbal construction first. In fact I probably should have just said what was on my mind, “Please don’t go!”

No one says them unless they’ll bring

I grew up and knew that tree and every year twice sometimes three times a year I got fruit from it. The occupants who lived there changed as often as the seasonality of the mangoes, some not coinciding with the fruit. But this last batch of tenants has taken what can be only described as an ungodly right that should be treated as an unlawful and cut down the mango tree.

Shelter Shade Sustenance

Should be against the law

Hacking down trees is a flaw

Especially if the trees bear fruit

Lots starving and they uproot

Trees that provide so much to eat

Edible pleasures like breadfruit meat

Ripe mangoes yellow up high

Sugar apple, sour sop and many other trees die

Hundreds fall so they can erect

A housing development but do they forget

Doves, sparrows, black birds and wild pigeons all

Exist as part of Mother Nature’s call

So where do they go when their homes are gone

Unable to find shelter from dust ‘til dawn

So many animals raise their babies

There are all kinds of God’s creatures depending on trees

Ecology is in balance when trees remain

Naturally growing and developers refrain

And for those home dwellers who are tired sweeping leaves

My comment about the Prime Minister and my very dear friend is that I am very touched by the way he continues to put the interest of all Bajan foremost. His sincerity is astounding and his integrity top notch. My Acrostic is a collection of some of the phrases he used that thrilled me and made me very proud of him

We take so much for granted even thought we might try hard not to. I am guilty of taking certain expectations for granted. I still expect that people will be here for a very long time, especially the people who matter the most. None of us has control on what the future has in store for us, in fact we can hardly see took the corner far less around the corner. Sometime great friends leave, they have to move on with their lives.

He Felt Like God’s Intercom

My friends, I say good morning to my parents every day. I kneel and give God my praise everyday. Eat, drink, bath and lots of mundane things I do everyday too. Reminding and asking others to pray for our Prime Minister is a far more important daily thing I do. I call on you to pray with me and the thousands of others because some things do need your daily attention and this is most certainly one. The following Acrostic poem was inspired by a true life story shared with us by Kim on Facebook

He Felt Like God’s Intercom

Heart attack was massive and he was pronounced dead

Emergency shocks didn’t revive him, he flat lined instead

Forty minutes had now gone and he started turning blue

Extremities turned black so all present knew

Life had past from the body that laid motionless

Though the lone doctor upon leaving turned back relentless

Like he was drawn by a compelling voice telling his say a prayer

It felt silly and embarrassing but there was no one to be aware

Knelt and said “Father..I cry out for this man's soul”

Excuse his past, raise him up, give him new control

Give him another chance that that he might know you

One more shock he begged the returning ER doctor to do

Did and regular rhythm came back immediately

So to his respiration and color in his body

It was a miracle and to God be the praise

None of his colleagues believed prayer heals nowadays

The blatant truths came years ago when his son got leukemia

Enquiries back in 2000 found none sympathetic in the academia

Reality has shown us the power of prayer

Every act of kindness or gesture of goodwill

Countered with your complimented response is thought to be civil

If someone loves you and you can’t reciprocate

Put them in the know from early don’t wait too late

Reciprocating is about fair value equal or better returns

Once you give back less it prompts many concerns

When someone raises their voice at you it would be nice if we could control the conversation by lowering ours. I remember a teacher who used to speak especially softly when the boys were noisy. He maintained if they wanted to hear they would make less noise. He was right and it worked

Happy Anniversary to the couple who managed to start the Genesis Dance Studio together during their 26 years of marriage, we are all very grateful to you. We know you accomplished much more together but some how we find ourselves looking back at Genesis every time because of what it has meant. I know of older folk who have enjoyed the Line dances and Waltzing and the younger ones who have Jive and Quickstep over the dance floor. The Master’s Hand

The new today was that the Prime Minister was feeling better. I am glad that he is in greater comfort and was able to receive calls and visitors. I know how important it is to have visitors and calls that disrupt the otherwise long days of looking around the same room, after a while you know each crack. You see when your mind I still active and the body is weak there is a natural conflict.

The Master’s Hand

There is a healer greater than physicians we know

He can remove all maladies and to Him we can go

Earnestly call upon Him that he can draw nigh

My God and your God extends His healing hand when He hears our cry

And for those who toss and turn in their sleep

Shushes their fears and dries their tears should they weep

Those afraid and full of doubt

Elevates their hopes and gets disbeliefs out

To Show The World That

What ever the dangers that exist out there, there are forces bigger than them that will eliminate them. First we must bring God into our hearts, then we accept the love He brings us and from there on in we follow His guidance. What ever the problems of the day, we must never go bed annoyed with each other. Unfortunately too many people follow this teaching and then don’t bother to sleep. The idea is to resolve the issue.

To Show The World That

There are dangers that lurk about

On the streets in urban cities where crowds shout

Some danger hide behind your door

Hanging around until men linger no more

Once you’re alone these awful things think they

Will be able to jump out, have things their way

They will never ever find you on your own

Having invited the Holy Spirit in, you’re never alone

Evil has little chance of defeating you

With the life you accepted to bid all sin adieu

Our Father knew your heart and fears you’ll face

Rewards you righteously with a peaceful place

Love He will offer you to help quell your fears

The Lord makes two souls merge to strengthen each

He Was Strengthened By God

Not even the great prophet could accurately forecast Hezekiah prognosis. It is true that he was carrying a message from the lord and therefore technically was right but it was not to be because the Lord will hear the prayers of His people and will answer them. How ever big the enemy or daunting the task, the Lord can turn it around. The name Hezekiah means “Strengthened by God.”

He Was Strengthened By God

Hezekiah was a king of Judah, the best there’d been

Ezekiah is the spelling by some so they are akin

We know from historical evidence that he started to reign

At the age of 25 and for 29 years he was to remain

Subordinate to their largest enemy they continued to pay

Several taxes to Assyria to keep them at bay

Then Hezekiah made changes and consulted Isaiah the prophet

Reformed the city and its lands but couldn’t forget

Enemy’s letter that said “…your God will not be able to save you”

Nothing physically possible could defeat his enemy but Hezekiah knew

God’s might and he placed the letter at the temple’s altar

Then prayed and sent princes to Isaiah that he will not falter

Hearing God’s word from the prophet and know his people’s fate

Eventually they returned and told Hezekiah if he should wait

Not an arrow will be shot and king Sennacherib will flee

Evening time an angel visited his camp and 185,000 Assyrians died mysteriously

Death of so many caused the king to turn away

But a more threatening enemy was at Hezekiah door to stay

You will have but a few days to live the great prophet declared

Got a sickness unstoppable but for death Hezekiah was not prepared

One earnest prayer with tears then Isaiah came back to say

Devotion makes you special, God grants you 15 years starting today

Infertile Soil Bore Fruit

The Lord promises and sometimes these promises seem so long we start to doubt that they will ever be fulfilled. But exactly when do we give up waiting. We never do. He keeps His every promise and although you may become impatient do not lose your faith. It is faith in the Lord that will keep you through your darkest hour.

Infertile Soil Bore Fruit

It was about 25 years that I had work for them

No fruit of their labor, not a sprout nor stem

For these years my masters tried but were now very old

Encouraged by God’s promise, they ploughed to their goal

Ready for her start since long ago

The lady gave up at 90 and asked that I’d bestow

Infant boy on the master that he might get an heir

Lady was always kind to me and the prospect was debonair

Effectively I would become like the lady of the house

Surrogating this child for her would mean bedding her spouse

Once I became pregnant there was much unrest

I disrespected the lady and she and her husband were distressed

Living there seemed unbearable and like my name “Hagar” I took flight

By the time they would have noticed it would have been night

Out in the desert alone and tired I heard my name

Return to your master’s and the boy was to be called Ishmael when he came

Even though there was still some stress I was more resolved

For me God cared and all my concerns were solved

Rudeness no more and then to everyone’s surprise

Unlikely centenarian bore a son, Sarah and Abraham glowed in their eyes

Isaac he was called and God’s promise was fulfilled

They had their heir, born of them and their paternity thrilled

When I think of what we can do to help our Prime Minister it becomes obvious what we need to do. We need to pray, pray as a country, pray as individuals. I do not agree with those who think we necessarily have to physically share a roof and pray to accomplish this pray together. Where ever you are pray, the prayers from Europe are as welcomed as those from St. Lucia. God hears you. Let your light shine

And This Little Light Of Mine

A soul is like a flame in an ocean of light

Never to dim alone, never too bright

Diffusing its glow all about

Then a strong wind threatens to put it out

Howling through the darkness the strong wind blows

It creeps up upon you, how no one knows

Spreads and gushes upon the flame

Little flame never knew from whence it came

In the threatening gushes the flame breaks apart

Things I Lost In The Fire

Today I as reminded of all the things that had been lost to me and so many others because of the fire on September 3, 2010 brought about by two dastardly Bajans and resulted in the lost of six lives

Tragedy, what a ruthless, heartless crime

Heinous killers must be the scum of the earth, evil’s slime

I am most disgusted as are all of you

No right thinking Bajan wouldn’t feel this way too

Going to etch a scar in our hearts

Slice away our core and strip our emotional parts

It leaves many questions of where blame resides

Larcenists, arsonists, building codes, rescuers, where danger hides

Or society sometimes wait too late to react

Showing far too much tolerance at their first brutal act

This fire took lives but with those took much more

I feel the lost of opportunity, the knocks at the door

No chance to give to society their positive plan

There’ll be no smiles, hugs, dances, nothing follows what they began

How hard to never see their children, hear their stories and views

Every chance taken away at the September 3 news

Fire took away my chance to ever meet them or for they

In some odd chance to meet my family or friends one day

For Five Flowers In The Garden Bed

When the bed was cleared away yesterday I saw a garden with a difference. Now all the petals from one large plant seem to decorate the entire thing. I was never big on gardening but I can’t help but feel an urge to garden now that I see the beauty it brings.

For Five Flowers In The Garden Bed

Fifteen whole years I waited then suddenly

One touch and soon the sun smiled at me

Richly fragranced and beautifully dressed

From the moment I saw the bed I was blessed

I tended to the garden with great zeal

Very often toiled, hardly stopped for a meal

Even kept close watch for any troubling pest

For there were a few, I took two, God took the rest

Life was incredible in that garden bed

One great stop for where birds came and fed

With a wealth of rich soil its foundation and the rain

Every thing in this garden that withered rose again

Roses bloomed in times long ago

Such were destined for another life and now I know

I alone should plant flowers in this fertile soil

None other of the gardeners must labor or toil

Today I see five flowers that yesterday weren’t there

How they spread their bloom every where

Every corner of the bed another stood

Grew like none other in our neighborhood

And the bed’s center had the most beautiful of all

Rose pink with little lavender trims where it grew tall

Dark speck was to the right, tan color everywhere

Each plant in the outer shaded by this plant’s care

Now if you’ll look closer you will see

Buds springing from another growing centrally

Every new bud is another flower just waiting to spring

I might nip pick sometimes at simple words but there is nothing simple in “Perished” It is clear how the Bible used it and in the popular John 3:16 no Christian will ever perished if they endure to the end. Who give the newscaster the right to say that someone perished today and who gives them the right to say that of our friend. “Whosoever believeth in him shall not perish but have everlasting life.” My friend believed.

Perished

People use these words interchangeably

Expired, died, passed away and perished

Radio newscaster said perished and immediately

I was infuriated, how could they say this of someone we cherished

Saved, she believed the Word and believed John 3

Her life on this earth though snuffed away

Eternity awaits her because thou shall not perish but have eternity

Do these newscasters believe why Jesus died that day

A Prayer Today

I remember the research years ago that tested the power of prayer. I believe it was done in England. The results were as we would expect, the patient who had prayer warriors recovered more readily and responded more favorably to treatment. God will determine how he heals and will often opt to go through the method we can better accept. This means that whereas God can miraculously zap away disease, His might still opt to work by opening the physicians eyes.

A Prayer Today

Almighty God awaits your request

Pray my friend for the PM who isn’t his best

Request that God takes the PM’s cancer away

And if you pray earnestly God will end this dismay

Your prayers are important every one of you

Every man and woman every girl and boy too

Regularly stop and take moments from every day

What is happening to men, they seem to have lost all their focus on being gentlemen. It started with the simple eyeing a lady, then the whistle of approval. As women got more tolerant they hiss started and soon the names and words to describe the women. Women learned to tolerate that too and then they started saying what they will like to give you and then what they will like to do with you. In short, give a man an inch and he will take a mile. Men now do it all in gestures. What ever happened to gentlemen? Do girls today believe that their ancestral women were bored behind close doors?

I just look at this business card and realized that the T’Amor Florist is one that I used for years. I have also been into the shop many times too. It is a very small world because the gentleman that used to do all the deliveries turned out to be a good friend of my dad and we have enjoyed the same beach area for years. I recently wrote a Tribute for the family and now here is something that will help me remember them in a more picturesque way.

It was very disappointing to see the extent of negative messages through the papers today, especially from the medical fraternity. I am no fool, I know that the stats for pancreatic cancer suggest that a large percentage of the inflicted only have a life expectancy of months. But I also know that there are some who live. I also learned yesterday that living without a pancreas is possible. So before you start airing that black suit, don’t you think you ought to think positively and pray earnestly. Thine will be done

Pancreatic Cancer

Percentage mortality rate is bad but this does not mean

A life after pancreatic cancer is unforeseen

Need not start thinking so negatively

Cancer can be defeated once caught early

Radiation, chemotherapy and surgery too

Early detected cancers can be stopped from metastasizing over you

And once stopped and removed life goes on

The prognosis for pancreatic cancer isn’t foregone

I want to remind all concern that prayers work when we

Alphonsus Celestine Edmund Cassell passed away this morning September 15, 2010 in Antigua. His death came as a surprise to many who never knew of his long battle with cancer. There is much solace in knowing that Christian hearts go on to a better place when they depart this life. We pray that during his illustrious life that he came to believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and accepted Him in his life.

This news was announced and immediately the host shifted to all about this great entertainer. I dance very often to his music, seldom refusing and that the bands played. The Mighty Arrow will be sadly missed but his existing music will live on.

Proper song, one I could never sing

Then the host played Let The Sunshine In

Every song following had sunshine in their themes

More spreading of God’s rays of Golden beams

The calls were made to the people who will miss the Arrow. I don’t expect to hear a call, I only knew The Mighty Arrow through his music. His Soca music always brought movement to your waist and a smile on your face. I wish I can share my sentiments with the family and friends and therefore offer my condolences.

Christ Too Far

When you turned away from those that said they loved you, it may take years before they find happiness. You can destroyed they hope for happiness for a long time, may be even forever, depending on how you quoted their hearts with your poison. You see, we have the responsibility as the adult to recognize when younger ones are becoming trapped in emotion. We as adults need to curtail it before it gets out of place and encourage it.

Christ Too Far

Children turn with innocence to adult men

Have faithful affections distorted and then

Returned with trusting words and loving facsimile

It’s easy for these young hearts to love completely

So what do you tell them when they have grown

To adults still believing but the love is not their own

These men who know better locked these gentle hearts in loyalty

One day against their own advice to claim the innocence and purity

Our Proverb 28:10 warns that any who leads the righteous astray

Falls into his own pit for he had done so in an evil way

And when such men behave loving and trusting who ever they are

Realize please that their hearts are too untrue and Christ too far

We can never understand the things the Lord does but what we can do is trust that what He does is for the better of mankind. God who is merciful and forgiving watched as we continue to disobey Him and still call on Him when we need help. Once we call earnestly God is there. At the last minute, what ever sins went before, God forgives and opens His arms to a welcoming embrace. Sometimes He allows tragedy so that many others can be saved.

My Peace I Leave With You

Mayhem abundant so how could a loving God be

Your beacon of hope and allow such cruelty

People are made to suffer at the hands of these

Evildoers that strike without hesitation and the greatest of ease

And how could a loving God hear their screams

Could he have known their hopes and dreams

Even with His power could have known that when they arrived

It would have been their last night, they would never leave alive

Loving God who could easily had stopped the beast

Easily given the girls a way out at the very least

And yet nothing but death for the six

Villains stole neither what time nor money can fix

I am still very troubled by the hideous act that snatched the lives of those six young ladies. I see their pictures in happier time. I hear the many gloating comments about their personalities. I haven’t heard anything yet about their service to the Lord and whether they souls had been saved. There are so many who wait, hoping to live out their youthful days and then later making a decision to be saved. Now this evil team is in the spot light and given a front page which does not even say that they are charged with murder. Charge with snuffing the lives and fates of these ladies who now, no longer have the luxury of free choice.

No! No! Please no, no, don’t tell me

Our front page besmeared with the doers of such iniquity

Their faces should appear only where they belong

On the crimes’ pages for doing such a hideous wrong

Nabbed by the Strong Arm of the law, Dottin got his “boys!”

Make the front page tell the story of the thing the Nation enjoys

Yard fowls behind the diabolical act to be charge’

Folk can rest now the killers no longer at large

Ruffians snared and will now face

Our laws toughest arms, police end their chase!

No! No! Please no, no don’t give place of esteem

The front page could do without the likes of this evil team

Put their faces way back in the crimes’ page

This is not the first time it happened that I neglected to take my medication. Both time I only realized when I was about to take the evening medication and discover that the morning one is in the vile still. I don’t remember what the doctors say but I expect they will say ignore it and continue as normal.

Doctors should be contacted she told me

Are you shirking your responsibility

You need to be here, there is much ahead

So tell the others, call the doctors, do something instead

Hurry up and learn what the doctors have to say

Emergencies like this don’t just go away

Accident and Emergency’s doctor told me to forget the one

Let it go, forget it, consider that dosage gone

That’s exactly what I expected, yes he say’s, be strong

He will go home and sleep with his wife but what if he is wrong

Only God can turn a MESS into a MESSage

Numerous mistakes I made but he showed me a new page

Life battled me yet each TEST he turned into a TESTimony

Yesteryear’s paths are now example for everybody

God took a TRIal and made it into a TRIumph one day

Only God could turn blue skies from ugly gray

Devastating killings of the VICtims but He made this a VICtory

Code changes on buildings and 3 minutes of silent prayers in unity
