At The Kitchen Sink

When you tell them you will do the cleaning it is like that is a ready license to all to leave the dishes dirty and not even bother to soak them even when you provide them with a bowl of soap water. I started and after being at the sink for rather long I could take no more and head for the couch but landed in my room.

At The Kitchen Sink

A lot of work but I did my best

The water, it was hard, I got spatters on my chest

Took a scissors down and cut away a string

Had troubles and screams turned to crying

Even though I have been at the sink before

Kept the counters clear and washed dishes galore

It was a different experience today

This was back wrenching and a voice did say

Careful! Don’t break it but as hard as you can

Hit it, push it, scrub, wash do anything man

Every stroke with great intention still nothing to show

Nothing was happening, the work seemed to grow

So I took a deep breath and turned to my room

I had turned off the tap and almost tripped on a broom

No more, I had no more in me to finish the work I had started

Kitchen work is for the stronger ones but not the faint hearted
