Go Dung

The Crop Over seem to breed “cultural” characteristics that disqualify too many of our society. They dress immodestly and to add insult to injury, they behave indecently wearing these same outfits. The media has played quite a role in spreading this disgrace. I have no doubt that on Kadooment day there are beautiful cultural spectacles. Come the days following the festival, I get tgo see more of the ugly than the beautiful and surely the youngsters are seeing it too. A girl is featured in the newspaper as the “Ugly” and then calls up her friend and exclaims “You see me in the papers, I famous then!”

Go Dung

Gosh! I cud scarcely watch this moral decay

Oh yeah, dem gine dung okay

Dung in values! It’s disgraceful and disgusting too

Ugly reproduction of what they see adults do

Now, this ‘aint nuh way dat even adults should get on

Go Dung is just another “dance” from which I’ve withdrawn
