Not For Me Thank You

Sometime we try to spare people’s feeling or to make others happy and we say yes when we should have said no. The truth is that if we learn to let people down softly we might never be in this bind. Learn to say a softer “No” and you will find that all concern are better off for you doing it, you especially

Not For Me Thank You

No, please, not today!

Ordinary words we must learn to say

Thank you, but no, not for me

Forgotten gestures we leave out daily

Omitting to refuse can be very hard

Refusals don’t have to make those offering sad

Mind what you say and with earnest voice

Elect to refuse, make clear your choice

Thank them when necessary for thinking of you

Have them understand why you refuse them too

And more often than not they will go away

Not depressed by the kinds words you say

Kind and assertive, they will respect you

You must show them consistency right through

Ordinary words make stressful decisions go away

Use them and see how “Not for me, thank you!” can save the day
