That First Sip

They say you can build up a tolerance even for the worst taste and start liking them if used often enough. They usually say that it is acquired taste. Well there is more going on than just the taste buds getting used to this new spirits. The mind is doing some changing too..

That First Sip

The first amount to cross your lips

Having gulps bravely or cautious sips

Are intoxicating none the less

They are few who survive the initial transgress

Few that are unscathed by the rum and coke

It consumes the mind and that’s no joke

Rum and any other strong spirits lowers your will

Sensations are numbed and the body may fill

Toss and tumble over bricks and bruise

Some people’s toes though they are wearing shoes

I know of some in their adventurous play

Picked the wrong company on That First Sip, that first day
