A Chance To Dance

I have always thought that going dancing was great fun but the one dreaded thing about it is that you go out to have fun and guys try to take advantage of your kindness to accept them. Years ago dances were coordinated with a dance card and now may be we might reconsider going backwards if only to stop the rowdies that have become prevalent on the dance floor

A Chance To Dance

And he slipped his hands about my waist

Closely hugged me from behind, never faced

He moved to the beat and compelled me

And I enjoyed the moving rhythmically

Now I confess I like the beat

Calypso music is very sweet

Entertaining and fun but I didn’t know

The dancing can make emotions grow

One dance only and the stranger behind

Dance with an unusual wind

And we lost the synchrony

No more were we dancing like we ought to be

Couldn’t go on anymore the magic was gone

Even though he got A Chance To Dance he wanted more than one
