I Thought I Would Fall

I Thought I Would Fall
It was the perfect day The sky was cloudless and the birds were at play High winds were heard as they rustled the trees Outside was a paradise of butterflies and bees Used aunties best and got on my way Grass had died in the path which expose dirt and clay Hardly noticed how the time flew There was the distraction of the precious, topographic view I gazed at shrubbery, I gazed at the hills With childlike ambulation I had five spills On my butt I landed but I only smiled Unable to cry when I was having such fun in the wild Lots of precious moments penetrated the day Didn’t stop to wonder what others might say Forgot all my troubles and enjoyed my trip And never once thought of the bruise on my hip Love for nature and hiking transcended it all Ledges were slippery and always I Thought I Would Fall
