Monday Morning Blues

The length and breadth of time as I remember it, people have always been grumpy on Monday mornings. Indeed many singers and poets found great canvass in this the first day of the week. These blues that seem universal have yet to affect me. I always found that I was cut of from the rest of the world during weekends since I hardly went any where and looked forward to Mondays when I can see them again.

Monday Morning Blues

Many people find

On Mondays they’re in a bind

Nights spent in weekends’ glee

Devastated by a new week’s entry

All the hype, rest and lazing about

Yesterday’s church and picnicking out

Meetings with friends you can only see

On Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays too – may be

Returning to the humdrum of the business week

Never seems inviting and requires a tolerable technique

I know how in school days we dreaded this return

None of us wanted classes though we all wanted to learn

Got few if any memories of Mondays when

Bliss was expected and the days transcend

Life’s dullness for the opening week

Unable to find a good Monday however hard I seek

Except recently I learned that Mondays too can be

Satisfying and pleasurable, if it starts with Honey.
