A Tribute To Yvonne Ianthe Holder

The Wife and Mother To My Dear Friends has entered into the bosom of our Lord. She was a calm and gentle spirit with who I have had many conversations. According to those who are closest to her she loved to talk but to me she came across as someone who never mind listening. She spent many of her days tending her vegetable garden and reading. One of the most touching things strangely was when she told me that she the gift I had given her when I was vey young still finds a place on her table for Christmas. If I didn’t know her personally, it was easy to know her through the love ones who survive her.

A Tribute To Yvonne Ianthe Holder

All is well with my friend’s soul

This loving, gentle lady did measures untold

Rawle offered his hand and she gave her heart

It was love and respect from the very start

Boys were always special she would say

Usually she noticed everything while they play

Their quirks identified them best then

Each of their manners told her the kind of men

That boys shall one day come to be

One future day, that from today she could see

Yes boys were to her special but all people too

Very clearly she demonstrated it with all she would do

Once each week charity prevailed

Non stop these seventeen years, her kindness never failed

Never stopped visiting old friends and patients at the geriatrics

Elderly folk who others may sometimes forget by bad habits

I saw her love for privacy

And not just her own but due respect she gave to everybody

Noticed how she toiled in the garden with loving care

The leaves and all the vegetables were happy she was there

Her devotion to her sons never was to waiver

Eyes and ears ready and cared for Robert, Ralph and Victor

Her many grand children were grateful to receive her love too

One by one they learned that their granny’s heart was true

Laughing with contentment and she read for pleasure

Dear Lord she collected religious and many books as treasure

Every day she did your service with devotion and praise

Returning to you now Lord peacefully serene because as always                                                                                    ………………………………...........You you call and she obeys

Same poem new acrostic highlighted
