Facing The Music

I was reacting to an article I read from a really good friend. The article was posted on his facebook pages. I remember he was always the writing genius in class; the teachers always gave him the best grades. I knew the work was good then but I didn’t have the literary skill to grade them. I still don’t now but I can say, his writing make you stop and think. Many kudos Mike

Facing The Music

For many of us the cover tells

A not likely choice and which best sells

Covers were visual windows into the vinyl tracks

Imageries of anticipation on the sellers racks

Numbers of us use this spontaneous way

Getting our next novel or the movie of the day

Taking our picks first based on visual appeal

Having that criterion be the very essence we feel

Excited first by the covers’ artistry

Music was selected this way even by the bourgeoisie

Until I read Mike’s article I never thought

Such an importance determined what we bought

I was like a moth attracted to a light

Covers drew me in and I bought without a fight

What did you think of this article?
