An Ugly Trail Is Still Manageable

And when I started writing about Autism I had no idea that people so close to me have made it their interest, hoping one day to help the not so fortunate and perhaps close the door to this dreaded influence. Like most conditions Autism Spectrum Disorder can be managed in early treatment.

An Ugly Trail Is Still Manageable

And did you hear

Now after 3 years the child’s unaware

Unable to do what other children do

Got no social skills, wouldn’t play peek-a-boo

Last week they told her the child should speak

Your child’s progressing slowly and cognitive skills weak

There is a reason why these children don’t smile

Reason for why hugs and affection make them hostile

And none or little eye contact even when

It is obvious you have been

Looking straight at them making your presence known

It seems like these kids are in a world of their own

Screaming if you disturb the things they do

Scared of sounds, light, touch and scents too

Things you only realized by chance

In the home with an unsuspecting glance

Look, I was here all along

Live quietly until today I felt strong

My influence grabbed hold

And I took your child, since it was 3 years old

Nerves, muscles all parts of the body

And your baby is now answerable to me

Got little chance from what I have seen

Even though some recourse has long been

A sure way to drive my destructive venom away

By early interactive intervention they may

Leave me be and I am sure to take over what your kids do

Each day I’m growing stronger, I’m Autism, in control, why aren’t you
