Teach Me How To Pray!

That old song by Jim Reeves always comes to mind when I hear theses words “Teach Me How To Pray.”  As I remember it the father couldn’t teach his son because it had been too long and he had forgotten how to pray. Don’t forget! Prayer will help you in ways you had not foreseen. Even your simplest request of the Lord are heard

Teach Me How To Pray!

There are things in my past I wish to erase

Evils that marred me during my younger days

And now they seem to have festered in me

Creating a blanket of negativity

How can I sweep them all away

Moving them out that finally they

Exercise no further hold on me

How do I dispel them that my thoughts can be free

Oh torment why have you for years

Weakened my trust and strengthen my fears

There must be a way I can be rid of you

Oh torment I’ll find the things I must do

People I saw knelt in pain and rose in joy

Rose with a new strength that that they employ

And now I’ve learnt how to end my dismay

Yesterday I asked a friend to Teach Me How To Pray!
