Six Hundred Pounds

I carry and invisible weights that I sometimes describe like 600 pounds on my left side (the side with my heart).  This burden, though relative recent, manages to change much of my life. The only way I am able to overcome this burden will be ….. actually I can’t say for sure that anything I do can change the way I feel but I sure feel like trying

Six Hundred Pounds

Some how I feel like I’m carry this weight

I move with a heavy heart to an unknown fate

Xtra wobble when ever I stand

How can I stand erect like a younger man

Under the strain I can scarcely go

Now I topple but still I know

Dear you give me strength to rise again

Run like a younger man and feel no pain

Enjoy the things I had forgotten about

Do more each day so today I shout

Please take this all away!

Only you can end my struggles today

Until you there was nothing but this heavy weight

Now I stand tall looking forward to our every date

Darling this heavy burden shall not impede me

So I’ll shed these pounds and step out freely
