Rainy Days On Mondays

Remember the new week’s blues, the going back to work or you routine after the weekend lull and feeling the devastation of the difference. We know we got to work to earn, or learn to work. We know all the things that are critical to our survival but as we rest, sometime we day dream that things would change when we go back out

Rainy Days On Mondays

Rested all Sunday with hopes to see

A brightened Monday waiting on me

I look forward to all the things I miss

Nice smile, a warm embrace a gentle kiss

Yet I wasn’t in control of the day

Didn’t know how to make Mother Nature say

All day today, I’ll give to you

You deserve my warmth and blessing too

So instead, down came the rain

One drop first then another and another again

No relief from the torrent of Nature’s tears

May be just once I thought, after all these years

Of all the times I wanted to be

Nature’s beneficiary

Didn’t matter, she shone her light elsewhere

And I was left in my despair

Yesterday I rested and hoped in some way

She would bring me a brighter, better Monday.
