A facebook contributor and I hope soon to be friend asked that we draw awareness to the kids with special need and I thought this was a true and noble cause. I stop what I was doing right away and started this short acrostic. It means a great deal to me that we all be supportive of ideas like these especially when we are not directly helping people and kids with special needs. May be you bringing awareness to it might help someone who is only now beginning their lonely trek. Thanks Renee

Special Needs So often, too often, we misunderstand People who, kids who, need a helping hand Extend your love, accept them for who they are Care for them, they are not contagious, don’t stand afar It is not a sickness they have that has a cure And like many of us their hearts beat pure Let compassion take the better of you None of them asked for their condition and they wish too Every day brings them acceptance that they can be Essential people in our community Don’t turn away when you see them but offer a smile Smiles can wipe away the troubles ahead, mile by mile
