Water Scare City

There is no justification for anyone to abuse the resources of water as if it will always be there even in these times when rainfall has been low and the island is experiencing a drought. But when I think of all the other ways that we are wasteful in our lives, I am forced to rethink people’s lavish ways. We set out a plate of food only to leave half to dump. We buy clothes to wear once and never look back at them again. This wasteful way must stop. Far too many of our brothers and sisters suffer from lack of the head things we squander.

Water Scare City

What does it mean, what’s it to you and me

Are we to ration water or can we still indiscriminately

Turn on our taps to full blast when ever we bathe

Each time we wash down the patio can we still parade

Ridiculous extravagance using our jet like a broom

Should we be less wasteful, is there room

Can we accommodate lavish use while others contrive

Are we being dispassionate to the millions who everyday strive

Reaping no bounty to quench their thirst

Each day we waste water are we being worst

Can we be classed with those who lavishly

In restaurants eat expensive meals while so many

Travel miles for food and still get none

Yesterday I turned on my tap and got no water, the resource was done
