Happy Birthday Cuz

Long lost but never forgotten. I was too young to really appreciate how beautiful my cousin was and I am glad that I never got too old to notice. Now I see her heart and I know it is a generous one. She is a definitely product of the blood, with the dominance of my aunts and their brother, my dad. Actually if the stars be accurate, she was born only days after my dad (many years separating them of course) and should have much in common.

Happy Birthday Cuz

Cuz, hey cousin, I haven’t seen you recently

Have you been piled with work, running around busily

Rest a moment, take a moment to read

It’s a poem and card with what you need

So take this advice and this time off

Today you earned the luxury of the sloth

It’s a chance to go slow, but not too slow least you miss

Noticing all the beauty in nature, the butterfly’s kiss

Enjoy the robins and squirrels go hastily about

Look at the flowers, the moonlight and the stars out

Let this be the moment to take time to pray

And with me, pray that it be, your very best Birthday!
