One Thing I Ask For

Every night is a promise for the day to come. I pray before selecting the one that the Lord guides me to. My interpretation of these promises are not meant to be an explanation of their meaning but rather an expansion on how I believe they speak to my life or those around me. Here is one from the first days my friend, daily telephone and devotional partner, took up new residence, where a telephone line was at the minimum 5 weeks away

Day 10 (re-posted)
The final one before my visit for her Birthday. The 10 were all compiled into a special Birthday Card. You will note that all the re-posted one, previously written were promises I had some time before. I believe the repeat is very intentional

Psalm 27

The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

One Thing I Ask For

The Lord is my light and my Salvation

He is the strength of my life, my protection

Enemies come, my foe and the wicked, my flesh to eat

Lord they stumbled and fell at thine feet

One thing have I desired that will I seek after

Residing in The Lords house and therein enquire

Demons today may encamp me, and wars rise against me

I shall not fear, I’ll trust Him confidently

Should troubles persists I will bow to my knees

My head He will lift up above my enemies

Yes, then I shall sing aloud my praise

Let the world know there is glory these days

I cry with my voice and He has mercy

God I shall always say unto Thee

Hide not Thy face far from me but draw Thee nigh

Thou has been my help, forsake me never and I

Always will serve you and walk your way

Never questioning but asking your help as I pray

Dear Lord, I am humbled by your undying love

My body is yours as your conduit from above

Yours to reach those who in desperation stray

Searching for enlightenment along the wrong way

And with your strength I too shall be strong

Lord with your help I’ll make right the wrong

Victory I’ll share and spread around me

And barricade myself from the threatening enemy

Then with the glory of your comforting hand

I’ll spread the victory throughout the land

One thing I ask for and for this I shall seek

Nothing else but the glory you promised the meek
