The Longing Soul

Every night is a promise for the day to come. I pray before selecting the one that the Lord guides me to. My interpretation of these promises are not meant to be an explanation of their meaning but rather an expansion on how I believe they speak to my life or those around me. Here is one from the first days my friend, daily telephone and devotional partner, took up new residence, where a telephone line was at the minimum 5 weeks away

Day 8 (re-posted)

Psalm 107:9

For he satisfieth the longing soul, and filleth the hungry soul with goodness.

The Longing Soul

The Lord He satisfieth the longing soul

He filleth the hungry soul with goodness untold

Exalting You Lord comes with great ease for me

Lord You’ve saved me from shameful iniquity

Only You can make possible the desires of my heart

Needs and wants You are able to set apart

Goodness through blessings you deliver each day

I need only live righteously and follow Your way

Now, though the storms be violent and the waves high

God’s mercies calm my troubles for He draws nigh

So even when I’m at my wit’s end

Our Father’s protection He will extend

Under His wings I shall soar safe and free

Longing soul quenched of hunger and purged of iniquity
