I Will Feed My Flock

Every night is a promise for the day to come. I pray before selecting the one that the Lord guides me to. My interpretation of these promises are not meant to be an explanation of their meaning but rather an expansion on how I believe they speak to my life or those around me. Here is one from the first days my friend, daily telephone and devotional partner, took up new residence, where a telephone line was at the minimum 5 weeks away

Day 6

Ezekiel 34:15

I will feed my flock, and I will cause them to lie down, saith the Lord GOD.

I Will Feed My Flock

I with you and His chosen few, shall lie in green pastures

We shall drink there of the still waters

I know He is God and we are His sheep

Like a good shepherd He watches as we sleep

Looks out that no danger shall visit upon us

Feeds His flock when it hungers and thus

Every need is met but still He

Ensures our even greater safety

Determinedly He seeks that which is lost

Makes sure to recover strays at all cost

You’ll find the broken He will mend

Fallen He picks up, strengthens the sick, our truest friend

Lord you said “I will feed my flock, and I will cause them to lie down”

On you we have trusted and now all Christians around

Come to you faithfully through Jesus Christ our Savior

Kneel and pray that one day we will abide in Heaven’s Manor
