The Promise Of Love

Last year I wrote an acrostic for Valentine’s that referenced the Adam and Eve story. I know, we don’t see this as a Valentine’s story, in fact we never think of it as a love story but it was the first love story and this year I continue with another Bible couple

Happy Valentine's Day to my family and friends

The Promise Of Love

Then three men came with news to bear

Her attention was peeked so she listened from near

Each fear that had grown over the passing of time

Put rest to never bother again, cause the news was prime

Run down in body and weakened in spirit

Only love only trust convinced her she can do it

My body at my age, she first laughed at the thought

I tried, and have been barren for 25 years, I can not!

Sarah’s doubts and fears now laid to rest

Expected a miracle, their lives with Isaac, to be blessed

On her husband she had trusted but now she could believe

Faith in the Word, in the promise that she will conceive

Love can conquer all at what ever time in your life

Old loves can still promise hope like Abraham promised his wife

Valentines’ love appears never-ending and its magic timeless

Every one who finds a true Valentine finds a lifetime of bliss
