Happy Valentine's To All

Are we too caught up with red when others are in the red? When red flows in the streets and when there is no abating the suffering. How can we feel comfortable spending so much unnecessary money as a measure of our love when love is an expression of the heart and needs no monetary or tangible additions?  I heard of the amount that was spent on the opening of the winter Olympics and the amount we recently spent on a vehicle for the Governor General and they both touch a nerve the wrong way.

Happy Valentines To All

Have the days thus far brought you any cheer

All the hullabaloo there is every where

Politics terrorizing people of an inevitable fate

People are bracing for Global warming in public debate

Yet there is a need today, immediate and true

Very many of brothers and sisters are wanting you

A fate under rubble from a devastating earthquake

Lots of money in an opening ceremony squandered to skate on a lake

Economies see the dangers now, still we plan for up ahead

No lesson is taught to us from the Haitian’s 230+ thousands dead

There is no time that is better than the time we have now

It’s important to rid all from poverty throughout the world some how

Nations are unable to aid regional neighbors as they say

Economical constraints have tied their hands today

Still spending for the vehicles amounts that would buy

The supports for multiple people, still we deny

Our region’s brothers and sisters in their time of need

And boast that we love each other but can’t get what pledges agreed

Love on Valentine’s Day now seems to be frivolous money spent

Let your pocket for this Valentine’s go to Haiti, give every cent!

There is more to the Acrostic Poem than first meets the eye

Same poem with a new acrostic highlighted.
