But When Thou Doest Alms
Matthew 6:3
But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth:
|
But When Thou Doest Alms Blessed are those who choose to give Use their talents that others can live They are a noble kind who choose to be Working for others through charity Honorable is the name that describes
this kind Earnestly they give with no ulterior
mind No selfish desire for fame, no qualms Therefore remember when thou doest
thine alms Hypocrites who in the synagogues
trumpet Out loud their charity so their action
can get Unanimous applause and global praise Do not assume their devious ways Only in the streets will they have
glory of men Eternal rewards do not await them in
the end So let not thy left hand know what thy
right hand may do That thy alms be in secret and only in
the Father’s view Alms is a noble cause and its giving
must not attract Lots of attention, the littlest
attention is welcomed in fact Make your giving then be noble and
nobly live Support the cause vociferously but you
must quietly give |
