The American Idols

The waiting was long but we waited with certainty

His talent was phenomenal, he was the true celebrity

Excitement for him ousted from the judges eyes

Adam Lambert was a sure winner and they can be no surprise

Millions voted, though I can’t recall the split now

Except, they didn’t go his way some how

Ryan Seacrest pulled the name from the proverbial sock

It was Kris Allen, he too was in real shock

Can’t be me! He exclaimed, don’t do this tonight!

America you’ve got it wrong, this selection isn’t right!

No way, no how, please tell me this is not true

I was good I know but Adam, we all know it should be you!

Disappointment again this year, the best didn’t win

One time they voted for Taylor Hicks and not Katherine

Looks to me the show is more about who becomes more popular

Should be the judges who deliberate on who’ll be, America’s superstar
