Mother And Child

Moments alone are harder to find

Once, just once I wish I weren’t this confined

The things they boast of in motherhood

Haven’t thrilled me the same,  haven’t been as good

Every stage brings new challenges with constant hyper

Right from the start, the breast feeding and the dirty diaper

Angel at sleep but like Energizer Bunny when she awakes

No stop to the going and the noise that she makes

Darling, sweet child, mummy loves you very much

Cares that you are healthy and happy to get your gentle touch

How fast you’ve grown, so now baby please

It’s time you listen and that mummy gets some ease

Learning to walk was a challenge, now you run all day

Darling, sweet child, please give mummy, just one moment away!
