If Only I Didn’t

It was a strange door but I went right in

Fell down a stairway but was safe in my skin

Once I got to my feet there was a welcomed surprise

No more cricks in my body, no more blurry eyes

Lifelong aging had reversed, I had muscles again

Youth returned to my old body and I felt no pain

I was better than ever and I could fly

Dove for miles underwater then leaped to the sky

I was going to do all the things I didn’t do before

Didn’t want to repeat past boredoms, then I saw another door

No hesitation this time, nothing to lose and everything to win

The  geriatric nurse stood on the other side, If Only I Didn’t go in
