Happy Birthday All Right

There was a song I loved and sang it in all stages of my like, yet I can’t remember the name of the song. In my mind I call it “And The Cats and the cradles” The important thing is that I can still sing the song and I remember that it was a lesson in life and the cycle of things that go around. One of the things that is obvious in the song is that the busy dad who never had time for his son found that the son when he grew up, never had time for him.

Happy Birthday All Right!

And like I said just a year ago

My niece is too scarce for me to know

Birthdays and Christmases are far to few

Every week I wish I could see her too

Registered with Facebook but to no avail

Really hard to find her every effort would fail

And then I thought what if, maybe

Every day she is getting more like me

Remember years ago when I was the one

Every effort to catch me and I was gone

I hardly stayed in one place long enough but come what may

Dear niece I’m here now wishing you a hug, a kiss and Happy Birthday!
