With Him Still On The People's Side

The Rt. Excellent Errol Walton Barrow was affectionately called by Bajans “Dipper.” We Bajans know and celebrate “Dipper” as the Father of Independence but do we remember what the man went through even at home when he tried to obtain this Independence. Do we remember the messages sent to England, describing Barrow and his compatriots as “wild boys” who should be ignored and who were only attempting to make trouble? Are we not glad now that these “wild boy” made such an undertaking? In recognition of his encouragement of all people, the country name The Centre for the Creative Imagination at the University of the West Indies, in Barbados after Errol Walton Barrow.
