Lord Send Help

When a friend was asked to spell stubborn by a teacher she proceeded and spelt my name. Today I asked another friend to tell me what 3 words first come to mind when she thinks of me and without hesitation just as so many years ago she said Lord Send Help. Of course I asked if she was sure she didn’t me the Lord Sent Help. She insisted that she clearly hears Send. What do I represent to my friends that they would think this way of me. One thing for sure, I’m glad they are honest.

Lord Send Help

Laugh until my cheeks would tire

Our love burns sometimes like a fire

Ready to engulf us to charred remains

Dangerous emotions, crippling pains

So often in heated debate

Eyes swollen with tears as we stay up late

Now sometimes unresolved and going to bed

Dreary of the roads which lie ahead

Help us Lord to get beyond

Everyday quarrels when we unfavorably respond

Let our roads ahead be smooth and straight

Protect us from ourselves Farther before its too late
