Ossie Moore And The D's

I wanted to find some old Ossie Moore jokes and decided to ask my dad, who had been my long time source of Ossie jokes. He always boasts of not forgetting things of his boyhood. He usually recites poems and stories from primary school days and still, I couldn’t get one joke out of him. I was fortunate to find a website that had some of the jokes.  I started telling my family and friends about the jokes I saw and jokes started flowing from them.

Ossie Moore and The D’s

Outstanding students had to recite

Sentences constructed from words that might

Sometimes give problems so the teacher would insist

Incessant revisions that would consist

Every boy creating sentences of their own

Making the words linked and never standing alone

Ossie Moore got up and the teacher said

One sentence with Deduct, Defense, Detail and Defeat from your head

Remembering what had happened just this morning past

Excitement came, for once he felt like the brightest in class

And he turned around that they all would see

Nothing more than his face smiling in glee

Didn’t want the moment to just slip by

Thirty boys before him failed and he was the last to try

He turned to the front to face the teacher again

Eagerly he blurted out his sentence from his brain

De duck that flew over de fence was mine to eat

So I jumped to hold de tail but catch it by de feet
