Lost Light

It’s hard to believe that a person can be gone in the blink of and eye but if you don’t know of their passing it sometimes comes even faster when the news is suddenly dropped on you.  There are few people in life that make the kind of impression this guy had. And I can only imagine the kind of person and friend he was to those he was closer to. I am glad to have known him briefly but I am even more glad that he was such a close friend to one of my closest ever friends

Lost Light

A light went out in the starry sky

Lost, went unnoticed, gone with a blink of the eye

Very bright it once was when all was dark

I now can never see its once welcomed spark

No hue or light trail, no silhouette, nothing bright

From here on I will miss the glow of this faithful light

Reminded though of the way it once lit for me

And guided my soul that it might be free

Now my light has gone to an eternal place

Called by the Father for His everlasting embrace

I know and I’m comforted that he

Shall enjoy his place in Heaven for all Eternity

That was sooo very sweet, kind and thoughtful – I really appreciate the time you took to write those poems or even to think of such kind words. The 2nd one really sums up my journey with him. Thanks again very much.
    Your forever friend
