We Write Our Names On History's Page

We Write Our Names On History's Page When greatness scribes itself , who can Erase its successes? No man! When amidst the thorns, one stands out Rose blooming unlike any other about It can’t go unnoticed, you can’t change the moment That others noticed its beauty or smelled its scent Every moment in time is precious and for those that
stood out Our moments are frozen and written where there’s no
doubt Under the covers of history, in the corridors of greats Rihanna, Sir Garry, Suki, Oba, Ryan and other Craftsmen of their fates Now appear in history because they did their best And demonstrated they were better than all of the rest Moments though fleeting are frozen that we Enjoy them, as they pass, repeatedly Some of you too, will one day write On history’s page where, one day I might Narrate of you and your great deed How you achieved greatness and worked to succeed I can see before me, that glow in your eyes See your potential and I, realize That every moment has opportunity, a chance to write Our names down in history, it could be tonight Regardless to who you are or what you do You can seize the opportunity and be on history’s page
too ‘cause like you, greats started when they were scarcely
known Showed their prowess later and seldom on their own People need each other to help on our way And give us a boost on that low, dark day Give us a chance, let opportunity be our gauge Embrace the moment as We Write Our Names On History’s Page |

And you have done well so far in making sure that we remember our history with this and all the other poems relating to our National Anthem.

You have certainly written your name on History’s page. These poems from this Category have been to date excellent and unique. I particularly like that your have maintained a distinction amongst them while still retaining the Web of indigenous Barbados. We eagerly await the others and have been hoping to hear them being read. Have you considered a publication of these?

Thanks for your kind comments
I submit my works to most of VOB stations but have found that only one host, Dennis, reads them. You may have noticed that none of the ones in the category BIM have been read, although I submit one daily. Dennis indicated that he was saving them all for Independence Day. Our Anthem has 24 lines including 8 lines of Chorus. I am unsure what his intention is but so far he continues to be the only reader.
Sorry! I could find no other local or regional writer doing the same or being read. If you enjoy my acrostic poetry, stay with me, they are many already done still waiting to be published.
Listen out on the Nov 30 as I will, we may be in for a good treat.
