Are Now Our Very Own

There are some things that might not change with time. Even though we go through the industrial revolution and Civil Wars and the disposable era of plastics and Styrro Foam, we can still be true to ourselves.

If in life we achieve greatness then we have found ourselves and Are Now Our Very Own

Are Now Our Very Own

And still, with all that has changed, look at me

Right down deep in my heart, what do you see

Even though this country is not the same

Nothing has taken away what gave us fame

Our hearts, yours and mine, still beat to be

Worthy of the honor of courtesy

Our manners have the reputation of being good

Under all the pressure we still show nationhood

Regretfully some few shame us with crime

Villains who stole, raped and killed , are now doing time

Every herd has got its own black sheep

Rebellious to the order the herd tries to keep

Your character has risen, like mine, to goodness

Our good characters will persevere for success

We may have our rural countryside turned to jungles of stone

Nothing takes our characters away, they Are Now Our Very Own
