Re-Discover Barbados

I see the beauty of every new day. It is different for me because I am more moved with the gift of life and more aware that my days are numbered than the average person. I enjoy the sun but I enjoy the rain too. I am happy to hear the calming sweet sounds of the morning but the irritating sounds of machinery are still reminders of life and I imagine all the different people that make up the world.

Re-Discover Barbados

Rooster crowed early in the morning

Eyes are opened with this his warning

Dawn is here he says, out peeps the sun

It’s time to Re-Discover Barbados and have some fun

So many beautiful things about

Clouds have parted and L’azure skies are out

Ovens await the fresh dough to bake

Various recipes with Brown Sugar Bajans make

Excursion baskets they start to pack

Red checkered blankets and a favorite snack

Bajans enjoy days like these

And grab all the available opportunities

Returning to their favorite picnic spots

Breakfast and lunch on open beach lots

A greater day is in everyone’s reach

Don’t miss out on eating Mangos by the beach

Our people always knew how to enjoy and have fun

So come Re-Discover Barbados for a day under the Sun
