All Things Under The Sun

I was bold for the most part of my life choosing to take the roads that startle every one of my friends and as a result of my choices they called me names. You want to be too perfect. I washed my face when returning to class after playing on the field; I brushed my teeth after eating. I did all the things the boys refused to and I wore Christianity among my heathen friends bravely. The presence of God made me realize that all things were possible and remove all my trepidations. How then can some one close to me see anything else?

All Things Under The Sun

A fear of all things under the sun

Like the sound of the breeze and the still when there is none

Looking through the window at what I might find

The terror of dark curtains and what lies behind

How fearful to step out in the rain

I might slip on the cement and suffer great pain

Night times are spooky and when all the lights go out

Ghouls lurk behind every door and are every where about

Scared to walk the streets alone

Unable to face strangers on my own

No spine in my back no will to bare

Don’t have a courageous bone anywhere

Every shadow that walked across the field

Raised alarms and new psychoses revealed

Thoughts of desertion by my friends

Have devastating convulsions that have no ends

Echoes in the valleys and a startled fluttering bird

Send shrieks inside me, loud yet unheard

Using a knife can scare me but I get worse at the sight of a gun

No rests for me, they say I fear All Things Under The Sun!
