Halloween Day

Every year this celebration gets bigger and bigger in our little island. They are holding Halloween sales, dinners, parties and there are many stores offering the costumes for young and old to dress up like ghouls. I wonder if we are prepared to celebrate even when we are ignorant to the origins of the things we celebrate even when they have such a ghastly significance to us now. I watch the programs advertising for Halloween Day, gory to say the least.

Halloween Day

How do we call ourselves a Christian community

And let this demonic practice be a part of our society

Let our children go from door to door

Liking those who give treats and those who don’t, abhor

Our children being exposed to more bad from the USA

We chastise their dress and music yet Halloween is okay?

Engendering this practice to punish those that chase

Evil tendencies out and from off of their place

Not buying into the “oh, you little sweet dear!”

Doing the right thing and chasing them elsewhere

All the way I wish, back to the great U.S.A

You must not encourage this celebration of Halloween Day.
