A Woman Given To Anger

This morning a friend sent me a reference from the bible that lends great consolation to decisions I made, however difficult they were at the time. The short verse inspired me to write this acrostic poem

Proverbs 22:24-25
24Make no friendship with an angry man; and with a furious man thou shalt not go:
25Lest thou learn his ways, and get a snare to thy soul.

A Woman Given To Anger

Anger devours where it resides

Where ever it lurks it selfishly decides

On the parasitic destruction of its unsuspecting host

Manipulation is what anger loves the most

Anger can convert the peaceful into a monstrous rage

Neophyte into a wild animal caught in a cage

Growling at those who are

Innocent passersby headed for places afar

Violent snarls of words unprovoked

Expletives where they might have joked

No tempered tones, no smiles just snarling teeth

To strip others’ emotions and cause disturbing grief

Once it gets in you friend, look out

Anger will transform you and exert its clout

No more will you be in control of what you say

Got no power over the simple things you may

Everyone was warned in Proverbs 22

Refrained from one given to anger in all that you do
