The Teacher

Too many of the same people who molded this country are too soon forgotten.

I sat in front of her once at a show and recognized the voice behind me to be my early secondary teacher who made a great difference in my life. I never told her thanks and I never even saw her again after I left school. She played a great part in my many successes and now, when I have amass fortunes, I learn that she lives in her same little home at the mercy of the elements, all alone.

The Teacher

Today she’s retired but she

Had molded all others from our society

Educated men and women that they

Take society where it is today

Each one of us were touched by her before

And yet today we’ve forgotten and never knock on mam’s door

Can be a noble profession but a lonely one too

Her life was devoted to making the future for me and you

Eff we are going to celebrate teachers day let us not forget

Retired teachers deserve our thanks for the standards they set
