Troubled Waters

When you wake on mornings you expect life renewed. The things you think about are the freshness in the air, the bright and not too warm sunlight, the birds and the flowers the barn animals, the whole works of a beautiful nature. But a p[art of nature we tend not to think of hearing or seeing and which is difficult to even write about is death, the passing of a life on.

Troubled Waters

The day started like any other

Ring tones from the phone, a call from mother

Our arrangement has always been the same

Up at the crack of dawn was our aim

But this morning was the news of a fallen friend

Life snatched away to an untimely end

Early morning should bring the springing of life

Didn’t expect such news of my friend’s wife

When I heard mom’s call I was looking forward to go

Again out walking to experience the beauty I know

The sunshine creeping from behind the trees

Every bird singing and on the flowers busy bees

Ready to greet it all with a smile in place

Sunshine in my window but death brought tears to my face
