Disaster

Got back home from the beach and while in the shower this poem came to me. I wrote as quickly as I can to get it off to my radio friends who were commemorating disaster awareness. The problem though is that I was too pressed for time. Even though the 8 lines were brief, in only had 10 minutes to get it over to the radio station and hope they read it. They didn’t but I wanted to share them with you.

Disaster

Do you prepare for the worst

Is this the thing you think of first

Stormy weather, Fire, Flooding or landslide

Are they measures you have placed to save your hide

So many plan for Mother Nature’s fury

They prepare for Earthquakes, tornadoes and a Tsunami

Every disaster imaginable under the skies

Refusing to prepare for the worst, their eternal demise
