This Great Morning

This morning the weather didn’t look like it was going to allow for a sea bath but we went any way. The rain never fell while we were out but the waves were choppy and large. After about 10 minutes in the water we were worn out but we braved it a little longer.  It still made for good bathing, just tiring. I enjoyed it but after had to submit defeat after about 30 minutes. Now I’m back at home enjoying the fruits of my effort

This Great Morning

The morning was very warm but overcast

Had another good night’s rest but now the rest has passed

I awoke to the songs on the radio

Saluting the Ladies of the Caribbean on the Morning Show

Giving praises to the Island Woman wherever they are

Riveting local contributions worthy of shores afar

Ethel the Rooster, well not quite his name

A rooster with such a name might crow in shame

They still have to go back to the drawing board but today when

My Cockle doodle doo friend crows, he’s crowing for every Caribbean hen

On this day he too celebrates

Rooster knows and like us participates

No lady goes unnoticed or is forgotten

I see the elderly ladies walking in their garbs of cotton

Noticed some in their gardens and others by the bus stop

God’s blessings to you from us and the rooster on the roof top
