The Two Bright Eyes

A few days ago I had another strange encounter at the beach. On should be more watchful when you are on the beach or in the water.  And if you are just floating there on the water with your mind miles away, you can become vulnerable to anything at anytime, showing up, out of the water. I will be a lot more careful now that I am here to tell the tale.

The Two Bright Eyes

There I was relaxed and free

Had no cares, I just floated in the sea

Except I felt a nudge and look around

There was no expectation of what I found

When I look across I could see

On my right, the two bright eyes were staring back at me

But equally shocked and not knowing what to do

Reactions were the same between us two

I panicked for a moment and then I saw

Going away from me with closed jaw

He never wanted me and he thought

That I was his master but alas naught

Eyes bright and wide open stared back at me

You could sense its fear and you would see

Even though he swam this far his fear turned him about

Should this dog had stayed I might have started to shout
