Sheila Velma Crichlow

You may notice two spelling for Sheilah ( one without the “h” as in the other poem) this is because I first used the more popular spelling Sheila and then saw one with the “h” in the local newspaper. I can only assume that the paper got it right. Wanting not to offend and also to have a tribute listed correctly I used both spellings in different poems. Please pardon me if I got it wrong but know how much Mrs. Crichlow always meant to mean.

My deepest sympathy to her husband reverend Winston Crichlow her children Mona, Olivia, Peter and Ruthann, her sisters who I know as Eula, Sis, Cirlene, her brother Frederick, her nieces Renee and Gennia and all her other family and friends. Also to my old school mates, the ones still standing out are Oliver Nicholls, Errol Worrell, Ralph Holder, Dwight Brathwaite, and Michael Cummings.

A tribute to Mrs Sheilah Velma Walrond Crichlow

Sheilah Velma Crichlow

She played a great part in who I am today

Her astute guidance shaped the things I do and say

Every decision I make I turn inwardly

I rely on none of the modern tomfoolery

Listen to fundamentals she taught me instead

And with little ease I conquer the road ahead

Her communications were clear and very precise

Violate the word of God and nothing will suffice

Eliminate nefarious ways and open your heart

Let God’s caring love be your ever start

Make him every part of every thing you do

A focused heart will make the impossible come true

Cause our Lord is never asleep at the wheel

Ready on days and nights, when ever you feel

It’s ‘cause aunty Sheildah taught me this from early

Considering a choice posed no dilemma for me

Her teaching extended long beyond the classroom

Little thoughts I use still when faced with gloom

On her guidance I turn for my judgment today

When facing life’s choices I remember she taught me to pray

An Influence In Our Life
