Jack And The Bean Stalks

You will have to see it to believe it. All plants that grow in this garden are usually much bigger that the average plant. I enjoyed many raw fruit from this garden.

I recently photographed one plant from the garden as proof to my doubting Thomases and any others that still find the thought inconceivable

Jack And The Bean Stalks

Just there for years, time to cure

And loaded with unusual animal manure

Circus elephants’ dropping when they were here

Kept this patch of earth richer than elsewhere

And after some years virtually left on its own

Nature’s elements rained on it and strange plants had grown

Didn’t know them and the strangest of these

The giant mushroom type, like miniature trees

Had spores like smoke and umbrellas to shade

Every plant below in the canopy it made

But we pulled them up to plant a more familiar seed

Enjoyed the bed of flowers until the weed

And then sprung tomatoes, pepper and other too

Now we had our own veggies and some herbs that grew

So large they all became and to our surprise

The garden sprung okra plants, you wouldn’t believe your eyes

And every time we harvest, giants okras came back

Large like cucumbers and soft enough for a raw snack

Kept getting taller and now okras grow above the roof

So high, to convince friends, I took photos as proof
