The Silent Doctors

Monday mornings I read the Healing Herbs column by Annette Maynard-Watson in the daily Nation with the aid of my faithful magnifiers lens. The articles I read are few because of the difficulty reading newsprint and the font size but I have been making it a point to read this one because Mrs. Maynard-Watson generally deals with the local herbs and things we never knew about them. I am really interested in finding out what local foods may offer some release for me and others.

The Silent Doctors

Thoughts of depression crowded me

Had read of all the side effects you see

Experienced many and thought that I may

Soon be depressed from the meds I take every day

I started researching, I wanted to know more

Learnt things about Multiple Sclerosis that I didn’t before

Even celebrities like Montel as he said on Oprah

Never expected the mental torment either

They say about 90% of MS sufferers who died

Didn’t succumb to their illness but rather to suicide

Only these things I believe protects me

Constant faith and trust in the Almighty

Then one morning I sat up from bed on my own

Once I realized the Comforter never left me alone

Read Philippians again, thought positively and had no Mental Strife

Silent Doctors like The Lord, healthy foods and fresh air changed my life
