The Cost Of Waste

It’s not as easy as buy no breakables, disposables or all the other throw away things that cost nothing. They do cost and may cost a whole lot more than you think. We may be disposing our future generations by disposing plastics today. I recently traded in my plastic water bottle for a metal bottle. I have long given up on Styrofoam and plastic dinnerware. I refuse to give Mother Nature a strangle hold.

The Cost Of Waste

They buy disposable because they don’t cost much

How backwards are these times, how out of touch

Every product we now throw away

Cost much more than we would ever want to pay

Oceans are now frothing with Styrofoam

Short showers took away Carew’s life and his home

To keep wells clean we pump millions down the drain

Open pastures are no longer permeating the floods of rain

For every plastic cup, plate or fork we throw away

We take a big chunk out of fund set aside for a rainy day

And Governments spend more of our taxes to compensate

Society’s love for disposables and avoidance to traditions they hate

To help future generations, there is one decision we must face

Everyone now should think more green to reduce The Cost Of Waste!
