Dead In The Water

I just heard from the call in program that a Bajan boat with three fishermen was rescued after being adrift for three days.  I saw from a National Geographic’s show years ago how arduous it can be to be lost at sea, dead in the water, at the mercy of the tide. I saw how sometimes you have no tide to even pull you in a direction which hopefully would lead you to shore. The last three days would have been very difficult. I hope to read or hear more of this time they spent before God sent help.

Dead In The Water

Drifting now for three days since

Emergency calls went as far as Port-au-Prince

And no answer to came to reassure

Didn’t know if anyone heard us but we needed to endure

It was long since my last drink

Nights came and I never got a wink

There was constant lookout for a rescue team

Hope someone passing might see our beacon beam

Even though Big Mac was old, he’d always brought us back

When we travelled distant waters or went off-track

And then we heard a motor headed our way

Trini coast guard came to save the day

Efficiently filled us with water and food and recharged our battery

Rescued us from those three days we were Dead at Sea
