Even though the judge asked too, I wanted to explain that day

General insurance man had already come on the scene

Accident had tossed my truck and Betsy got a ruptured spleen

Looks like she wouldn’t have made it, so when

Constabulary came, you would imagine what happen then

One shot to my cow’s head took away her pain

No delays or hesitation, they didn’t have to shoot her again

Then your honor, the police came over to me

Regardless to what I had told the insurance guy, on first scrutiny

A motionless Betsy could be seen, laying there

Coming at me the policeman, her mercy killer, drawing near

There I laid in pain with a broken leg, arm and spine

Still when he came to me and asked how I was, I replied, I’m fine!
