RPB- Rivalry Perpetuates Buddies

They were interviewing long time local Calypsonian and former Pic-O-De-Crop Monarch ( 8 times) and discovered that the rivalry we see on stage is meaningless play against his competition, especially against another former Monarch and long time performer, John King. Many people are looking forward to the Finals on Friday night that they will see how these two compete to secure this years Monarchy. May the best artiste win.

RPB- Rivalry Perpetuates Buddies

Red Plastic Bag and John King

Involved in some healthy rivaling

Vied against each other for years

And now they’re true Calypsonian peers

Lyrical geniuses and rear artistes

RPB and John improve on every release

You know Something’s Happening when the Bag gets on stage

People feel a piece of Heaven since Johnny Ma Boy got of age

Entertainment extraordinaire, any one

Ready for great things in performance and song

Plastic Bag is a favorite but we must wait

Every indication shows this competition will be great

Can’t stop the music all you try

This is our heritage, bear and comply

Under the drum beats the horns and the pan

A Bajan will be hypnotized from the Kaiso band

They will catch you by the feet and make you move

Engulf your spirit and put you in the grove

Some Bajans are hopeless with the Kaiso beat

Bemused by it’s magic, they will wuk-up in the street

Under the spell they’ll do strange things with a stranger

Do this and never worry about ramifications later

Dancing to the Kaiso puts you in hypnotic glory

It’s euphoric and with the right artistry

Entertainers Red Plastic Bag and John King

Something’s Happening and Heaven might be coming!
