I Tell Purnell

Barbados has musicians that we hear their names repeated every time people want to site a great musician. I believe that young greats born every decade if not every year. The problem is that they are not encouraged to pursue their loves and most of them abandon these gifts.

I might have never known how good a musician I could have been if I wasn’t forcefully encouraged. I look back now and I’m glad today that I followed the path of the arts even when I was still studying the sciences.

I Tell Purnell

If music is to grow

To get bigger than we know

Encourage the young now

Let it be a patriotic vow

Learn from the pass greats

Purnell advises that emulating translates

Usually to improved artistry

Reproduce but enhance what used to be

Nicolas and Turo are just two of these

Emulate them and you’ll be on course to please

Listeners even with discerning ears

Learn from these greats and you’ll sell your skills, for years
